Our Story
In 2008, we started offering free community health and wellness workshops and computer training. In 2015, we officially launched Scholar Connections to provide academic, career, and community impact opportunities to local youth, along with grant writing and youth program design services for nonprofits.
In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic prompted us to rethink how we delivered in-person services. A year after transitioning to an online presence, we rebranded in 2022 to offer a full range of services and resumed in-person offerings. A key focus of our rebranding was creating LifeWorks SC, a 501(c)(3) organization that includes both our existing services and our new mission to restore families, rebuild communities, and reduce poverty.
As part of our core activities, we conduct financial literacy workshops, offer academic and career coaching, advocate for voter rights, and refer families to stability services. For over a decade, we have empowered over 30,000 individuals to achieve their financial goals. We are advocates for individuals and families at risk of poverty and those in low to moderate-income communities, we champion equitable and accessible services.
